A Testimony
Pandita Ramabai, told by Pandita Ramabai
Pandita Ramabai's own autobiographical testimony of her journey to Christian faith, written after some twenty-four years as a believer. Her words are preserved alongside Helen S. Dyer's biography of her life and reforming work.
The changed life
Born a Chitpavan Brahmin and honoured as Pandita Sarasvati, the first woman so titled by the University of Calcutta, she was baptized in 1883 and became a Christian social reformer, founder of the Mukti Mission and a Marathi Bible translator.
